My blog in short

My Blog in Wordle

In the process of working on my final project for EC&I 831, I wanted to spend a couple minutes playing with Wordle. I was curious to see just what words I have been using in blogging and it was an interesting experiment. I probably need more posts to really get a better idea of words I use very frequently or trends in my writing but as a tool, I can see the potential.

Have you used a word cloud for your writing? How about with students? Did they see the value or was it just a neat visual with minimal meaning

ETA: Apparently the code provided by Wordle did not want to work. Since I couldn’t see any reason why it wasn’t working to fix it, I replaced it with a screenshot of the image. Much easier anyway. It did work previously as a preview so I have no idea what happened.

  1. I like how you used wordle. Now I am interested to see what happens when I “wordle” my blog.

I think that it does show value and it would be interesting to compare mine to yours.

    1. Thanks Tina! I’ve seen people do this for their Facebook statuses (I think there is an app in Facebook that does it). It’s interesting to see what words we use, what we talk about and how we talk about it. That could also be my English minor showing.
